Disappointment / Old Pines Hiking Trails

...several loop routes...

This is a scenic area with varied terrain.   You can create a hike of 25 to 32 miles by combining your choice of several loop routes.  Begin the hike by following the Kekekabic Trail from its west end, then take off on the Old Pines trail.

View map of this area

Length: 25 to 32 miles (depending on loop)

Entry point: 74

Maps: Fisher # F31 or F10 and F11
Campsites:  Only a few area accessible from canoe routes.

Water: Readily available.

Trip options: Combine Old Pines trail loop south of the Kek Trail with the north loop that crosses Disappointment Mountain, or add Benezie-Becoosin loop.

Features: Rocky ridges, overlooks, old-growth pines, remote lakes.

Challenges: Rugged, hilly trail with beaver dam crossings, a few steep places.  Expect some difficulty in following trail in a few places, especially the clearcut area (see Kek trail)
