WILDERNESS ENVIRONMENT

6 - 7 seasonal staff

includes housing at no charge

Positions include:

Outfitting / Food Packers plan and pack all aspects of a canoe trip and provide "hands on" customer orientation for the optimum wilderness experience.

Waterfront / Maintenance ranges from canoe packing, portaging and paddling demonstrations to lawn care, carpentry and repair work, limited only by the person’s abilities.

Front Desk / Office Position, while not full time in that capacity, it has grown to encompass many of the responsibilities that in a larger business would be called administrative or managerial. We have recently computerized and are still in process of creating guest databases, inventory and financial and general ledger data.

Cook handles menu planning, food ordering and overall kitchen management..

Housekeeping work demands "an owner’s eye" to catch and keep up on minor repairs, re-supply items, etc., plus the responsibility to plan changeovers in accordance with coming guest’s needs. (all staff participate in the changeover of cabins on weekends)

Clearwater Canoe Outfitters and Lodge is a small, family owned, business that caters to families and outdoor enthusiasts. As an employee of Clearwater we expect respect for our customers and the environment. The work is demanding but rewarding and we try to encourage you to have fun while working hard. We give everyone on staff an area of responsibility where they are the expert but see that everyone is able to perform all facets of resort work. We expect you to be able to carry on conversations with customers and demonstrate your area of expertise.
